About Helen Aggie Albright Johnston

01/31/1960 ~ 08/29/2014

LAKESIDE -- On Aug. 29, 2014 Aggie Johnston was called home to be with the Lord. She was fatally injured in a tragic accident.

Aggie was born Jan. 31, 1960 on an Air Force base in England to Townsend "Tom"* and Kathleen "Katie"* Albright. The family moved several times during her young life while her dad served in the Air Force, including tours in Vietnam as a pilot. In 1971 her family settled in El Cajon, CA.

She graduated from Valhalla H.S. in 1978. She later earned an AA degree from Mesa College and a degree in computers from Coleman College.

In 1987, it was mutual love at first sight when she met her husband, Chip Johnston. They were married Dec. 28, 1987 and made their home in Lakeside, CA. Two beautiful sons soon followed, Bradley born in 1989 and Stephen born in 1994.

In 1992, Aggie went to work for Shadow Mountain Community Church. She applied her gifts to serve the Lord there for 22 years. She was the administrative assistant for 5 different COOs and CEOs. Through those transitions, the one constant rock was Aggie.

She served on a campus that was home to SMCC, Christian Unified School District, Christian High, Jr. High, and elementary schools, and San Diego Christian College. Her office was the hub of the campus and Aggie was the Rosetta Stone of coordination. She possessed rare abilities to simplify chaos, cut to the chase, and get the job done. When asked to take on new responsibilities, she would not panic, she would simply download a manual and teach herself.

Strong, independent, and efficient on the outside, warm, generous, and caring on the inside, Aggie truly was a remarkable woman. A woman who called being diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer a "bump in the road."* A woman who dealt with four major surgeries, 3 separate and lengthy chemo regimens, and radiation treatments while missing no more than a couple weeks of work and while continuing to take care of her family.

Aggie was preceded in death by her father Tom Albright. She is survived by her husband Chip, her sons Bradley and Stephen of Lakeside, mother Katie of Santee, and brother Chris Albright and sister Kathy Los of San Diego.

Aggie's beautiful smile and outgoing personality could light up a room as well as a life. She touched the lives of thousands through her ministry and she tirelessly devoted her life to her family. Beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, there now exists a huge hole in our hearts and our lives.

We take comfort in knowing that she is in Heaven with our Lord and Savior. Rest in triumphant joy our dear sweet Ag. You are truly loved. A memorial service to celebrate Aggie's life will be held on Friday, September 12th, at 2:00 pm at Shadow Mountain Community Church, located at 2100 Greenfield Drive, El Cajon, Ca.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Aggie to the Christian High School Student Grant Fund, 2100 Greenfield Drive, El Cajon, CA 92019.
