About	Carlo Jose Reveles Birth: Nov. 5, 1958 Imperial, Imperial County, California, USA Death: Mar. 4, 2012 Age: 53 Redlands, San Bernardino County, California, USA Carlo Jose Reveles, 53, died March 4, 2012 at Redlands Community Hospital due to complications from pneumonia. Born in Imperial to Manual Reveles and Bernardine Hansen, he grew up in Mentone and attended Yucaipa High School. He traveled to Europe on tour in the high school choir in the 1970s. Carlo held a black belt in Kung Fu and ran a Yucaipa dojo in the early 80s. At 21, he broke his neck in a swimming pool accident. He lived with pain the rest of his life. In 1984 Carlo graduated from the National Educational Center with an AS in Electronic Engineering. He worked a Calebs Guitar in Redlands. In the 90s Carlo moved to New Mexico. He also lived in the Oakland and Hayward area where he worked at Berkeley Labs and Interval Research as a Technician. During that time, Carlo met Erica. She worked at a start-up company called Google as a Tech writer. While in Hayward, Mark Wilson, Kirk Klingbiel, William Quinten and Joe Scarboro were all involved with Carlo’s music collaboration. After the contract expired in Berkeley, Carlo moved back down to Yucaipa. Shortly after his move, a tooth infection led to a serious health condition requiring him to have an artificial heart valve. Because of the medicine he suffered many seizures and strokes. Carlo is survived by his sisters Barbara Hansen, Geanne Jensen and brothers Mac Hansen of Yucaipa and Ray Hansen of Redlands. Carlo enjoyed writing and playing music with his friends. He was part of many bands including, The Connection, CaDaMa, Walk About and The Gypsy Monkeys. His music, with both solo works, musical collaborations with numerous players, writers and friends have yielded an impressive array of great music with songs about life, love and Mother Earth herself. Songs like “Arbor Requiem,” “In a Hundred Years,” “Big Ole Bear,” “Don’t Scare the Monkey,” “Stay With Me,” “Between the Lines,” “City Lights, “In the End” and Mother Earth are a small sampling of his talented writing. Carlo was a very large gentle soul. Please join the Memorial Celebration “Carlo Requiem” at 2 p.m., April 21 at the Oasis Botanical Gardens, at 12393 First St. in Yucaipa.
